Dean Laura Bryan
Interim Dean of the Lewis Honors College and T.G. Lewis Faculty Scholar in Organizational Behavior
Laura Bryan is the Interim Dean of the University of Kentucky Lewis Honors College and the inaugural T.G. Lewis Faculty Scholar in Organizational Behavior. She is also the Founder and CEO of LLBryan Consulting in which her consulting and coaching practices are based on positive organizational psychological science. She is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Association for Psychological Science, and the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP). She has over 30 years in higher education, including 20 years in various academic leadership positions at the executive level. As a teacher-scholar-practitioner, she consults with organizations to cultivate positive, inclusive workplaces and is dedicated to empowering individuals to find their potential. She authored Shaping Work-Life Culture in Higher Education: A Guide for Academic Leaders, co-authored EEO Law and Personnel Practices, and co-edited Using I-O Psychology for the Greater Good: Helping Those Who Help Others. Her work on the history of industrial and organizational (I-O) psychology has been published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and as book chapters, and edited both editions of Historical Perspectives in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (2017; 2021; Routledge). She is recently co-edited Key Thinkers in Industrial-Organizational Psychology (2025, Routledge). She has received several professional awards, and in 2017, she was named one of the most influential authors in I-O psychology. Bryan is past-president of the College and University Work-Life-Family Association, past elected officer of the SIOP executive board, and formerly the Director of Work-Life at the University of Kentucky. She is currently an elected member of the APA Board of Educational Affairs. She earned a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from The Ohio State University, where she also earned a MA and a BS in Psychology.
